The Board of Education and the Administration began the goal-setting process by discussing the strengths of the district and those initiatives in progress. The Board of Education finalized the following goals for the current school year:
District Goals
- The district will maximize fiscal efficiency and sustainability by pursuing grants, investigating energy-saving initiatives, and evaluate feasibility of expanding shared services agreements to reduce costs and enhance district resources.
- Improve student achievement in mathematics across all grade levels, with a specific focus on addressing subgroup performance gaps, by using Renaissance Learning STAR assessment data to guide instruction and monitor progress.
- Improve student achievement in language arts across all grade levels, with a specific focus on addressing subgroup performance gaps, by using Renaissance Learning STAR assessment data to guide instruction and monitor progress.
Board Goals
- Strengthen Board of Education members’ knowledge, skills, and governance capacity through targeted professional development and active engagement in County and State level learning opportunities.
- Enhance communication and strengthen relationships between the Board of Education and the community by increasing visibility and engagement at school and family events.
