The Waretown Extended School Program (Latchkey) is a before and after school program sponsored by the Ocean Township Board of Education.
We offer childcare for students of working parents in grades K-6. We open at 7 A.M. and close at 6 P.M. Our calendar follows that of the school year. We are closed, though, for full-day in-service trainings for the staff, as well as all for all weather related emergencies, including weather early dismissals and delayed openings.

Before School Program
Program Center: In both the Waretown Elementary School and the Frederic A. Priff Elementary School. Students use program based on the elementary school they attend. Parents may have to drop off at more than one school. Please use the back entrance for each building.
Drop-off: Parents are expected to fill out the questionnaire at home before arrival. Children’s temperatures will be checked upon arrival for a temperature of 100.3 and below. If the temperature is 100.4 and over, there will be a recheck, but at 100.4, the student needs to go home. Parents and visitors may not enter the building.
Hours of Operation: 7:00 AM until the opening of each school.
Days of Operation: We close for all school holidays and full day staff in-services. We are also closed for inclement weather and delayed openings.
Program Staff: Staffing based on groups of 10.
Activities: Individual activities are expected and required. Quiet time, homework and study time is provided.
Transportation: Responsibility of the parent or guardian.
Program Closing: In the event of a school closing, delayed opening or early dismissal due to Information: inclement weather, the program will be closed. Please check local TV and radio stations, as well as the internet and global phone calls for information.

After School Program

Hours of Operation: End of school day until 6:00 PM.
Days of Operation: We close for all school holidays and full day staff in-services. We also close for inclement weather and early dismissals.
Program Staff: At least one staff member per group of 10.
Activities: For the foreseeable future, students will be in small groups based on their school and class. Activities will be station to station and individualized. Space and staffing will determine homework completion.
Pick-up: Parents and visitors may not enter the building. Please come to the building where your child attends school (back entrance for each).
Transportation: Transportation home is the responsibility of the parent or guardian.
Closing Information: In the event of a school closing, delayed opening or early dismissal due to inclement weather, the program will be closed. Please check local TV and radio stations, as well as the internet and global phone calls for information. If school is suddenly closed during the school day, the program WILL NOT stay open. Please have a plan in place for that type of event.
