Marie Leaming is a long-time resident of Waretown. Along with her husband Tom, they have owned and operated Leaming’s Marina in town for about 40 years. They have two successful adult children, Leacy and Shane, who grew up here and went through our school district. Marie worked in our school district for 29 years. Most of those years she spent working in the Frederic A. Priff Library helping the children of Waretown hone in on their love of books and reading. These are some of the reasons that Marie felt that she could make a good addition to our Ocean Township Board of Education. Along with her understanding of how our school district runs and her sense of giving back to her community, Marie hopes to bring her love of the Waretown children to the table. “ My hope is to improve communication between the staff, administration, parents, and our community so that we can give the children of Waretown the highest quality of education that we can provide.”
