The Board of Education and the Administration began the goal-setting process by discussing the strengths of the district and those initiatives in progress. The Board of Education finalized the following goals for the current school year:
District Goals
- To increase student proficiency in mathematics by implementing targeted instructional strategies, professional development for teachers, and data-driven interventions, with a focus on closing achievement gaps and improving overall student performance in math.
- To enhance student proficiency in English Language Arts by implementing evidence-based instructional strategies, with a focus on piloting the Core Knowledge Language Arts (CKLA) program and closing achievement gaps.
- To foster a positive, inclusive, and emotionally supportive school environment through the implementation of the Responsive Classroom approach across the district, ensuring that students’ social-emotional development is prioritized alongside academic achievement.
Board Goals
- To enhance the effectiveness of the Board of Education in governance, policy-making, and leadership by providing continuous and targeted professional development opportunities for all members.
- To strengthen trust and collaboration between the Board of Education and the community by enhancing communication, increasing engagement, and promoting transparency in decision-making.
