Procedures for arrival & dismissal at school:
Waretown Elementary School:
Waretown Elementary School morning drop off:
Parents may pull up to the double doors on the east side of the building (by the painting of the whale in the blue sea). Cars will line up along the trailer and basketball courts. Drop off begins at 8:10 a.m. and ends promptly at 8:20 a.m. for grades K through 2. For Preschool students, drop off begins at 8:40 a.m. and ends promptly at 8:50 a.m. If you arrive after the doors are closed, please go to the main entrance to drop off your child.
PLEASE NOTE: K-2 students may not be dropped off at the east side door during preschool drop off. After 8:20 a.m., they must be brought to the main entrance for a tardy slip.
If there is a need for you to get out of your car, other than unbuckling your child, please park in a designated parking spot and walk your child through the crosswalk to the double doors.
Make sure a staff member is visible before letting your child out of the car. Do not allow your child to exit your vehicle until you have stopped at the curb near the double doors.
Once your child has entered the school, please proceed out of the parking lot to the Railroad Avenue exit directly in front of you, as soon and as safely as possible to ensure the line moves quickly. Cones will be utilized to direct traffic to ensure that all cars remain in line and exit safely.
Waretown Elementary School afternoon pick up:
Students will be dismissed at 2:45 p.m. The student pick up location will be the same as the drop off location on the east side of the building (by the painting of the whale in the blue sea). Parents/Guardians will need to park their vehicle and line up at the door to pick up their student. Photo ID is required, as students will only be released to designated contacts. Please contact the main office at 609-693-3131 ext. 110 if you need to add anyone other than the parent/guardian to your student’s pick up list.
