Mrs. Risden scheduled speakers to attend the class, and the class attended some virtual field trips. 6R students visited Ellis Island, the Museum of Natural History, and Cloverdale Park in Barnegat. The students were able to learn about cranberry bogs and New Jersey’s cranberry history. Mrs. Crowley attended our class to teach them about the dangers of vaping.
The students also had a live visit from Sandra Blain-Snow and Tanara Hall from Ocean County Solid Waste Management Master Composters. They presented a lesson on composting and worm composting.
Lastly, 6R students had a visit from the Waretown branch of the Ocean County Library. The students learned about the summer reading program and resources available from the library. They also played a fun game of Jeopardy and completed a Mad Libs with Ms. Sara Cook.
After the lessons and presentations, the students wrote thank you notes to the presenters. It was a wonderful week of learning and exploring!
